Album Review: To Pimp A Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar 2015

Kendrick Lamar is an incredible musician. Not only lyrically but his instrumental arrangements are unique and creatively addictive. As K. dot he grew in popularity until finally going as Kendrick Lamar with two killer albums: Section 80 and Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. His latest album doesn't have any monster "bangers" but there are a few tracks I've been listening to on repeat. The album isn't meant for you to become engulfed in the beat but it's purpose is for you to listen to his message. You can check out this album on spotify for free by just signing up.

My favorite songs are:
King Kunta
Alright
How Much A Dollar Cost

Check this album out!

Album Review: Jack Johnson - From Here to Now to You

After my initial run through I was a little sad with the lack of the old dark and deep Jack Johnson but on my second trip I have to say I'm starting to like this new direction. When To the Sea was release I couldn't help of thinking about other albums like On and On but I've come to realize what I like about him so much. With every new album come a little bit different sound and style. His newest album is definitely worth a look and there are quite a few catchy songs. I usually judge the songs on how much I want to learn them on guitar but I'm just going to have to leave this as a listening album instead of a covering. Check this album out and see what you think.

Making Music/Beats/Rhythms

So I've been playing guitar and other various instruments for a long time and I'm finally giving into the recording/song making craze.  One of my good friends introduced me to a nice editing software and I plan on getting familiar with it and we'll see what happens! If anyone produces tracks let me know and I'll take a listen to what you've made!

Jake's Album Choice of the Week#4: Jack Johnson - on and on

I have been listening to Jack Johnson for many years now and whenever I want to get into a very chill/relaxed mood this is the man I turn to. He is a talented guitarist as well as a creative lyricist/singer. More of his albums will definately make my list but this just so happens to be the album I've been listening to recently. Check him out you won't be disappointed!

Jake's Album Choice of the Week#3: Say Anything - ...Is A Real Boy

I love Say Anything... That is all I can say about them... The first Say Anything song I heard was in an episode of Scrubs and I couldn't control myself. Check out the video below and tell me what you think. This album is incredible.

Jake's Album Choice of the Week#1: Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon

As most of you don't know music is a huge part of my life. I've been playing guitar for over ten years, drums the last few years and I fool around with piano and singing. I found it very interesting that almost every week I find an album and play it not stop for the week then move onto something else and I thought it would make a fun blog topic. Therefore, every Friday I will post the album I've been listing to and you can tell me what you think and what you've been listing to recently! Hopefully this will introduce everyone to the new, old and the in between music that you've never heard of. Anyway, we'll see how it goes!

So even though this is one of the greatest albums of all time and is known worldwide, I've been listened to this album everyday this week. It kind of seem mandatory I start of with my personal favorite album as well as a hugely known album, so if you've never heard of Pink Floyd or The Dark Side of the Moon, LISTEN TO IT RIGHT THIS MOMENT! I would tell you more about the album but I'm going to assume that most of you know a bit about it and if you don't I hope you do a little research about this incredible album. My favorite song definitely has to be Us and Them because I find it to be very relaxing with its lyrical meaning and chill melody. So finally, check this album out and tell me what you think!
